The overall impression is similar to Clear Sky build 3120.ĭemo 1 is a simple cutscene. Judging by the demo contents, particularly the use of placeholder dialogue in English, these materials were probably meant for recording a trailer or showing off STALKER 2 at a trade show. The others crash on startup due to missing or incompatible files.

There are seven demo scenes configured, however only 1, 3, 4 and 7 are working at the moment.

I tried dynamic lighting but it just blitzed flashing triangles everywhere. Only static lighting and the new 'enhanced static lighting' mode are working (more or less) correctly. I suspect 4201 was one of the last builds compiled before the devs abandoned X-Ray in favor of an all new engine. You'll notice this is still the X-Ray engine, albeit with some additional renderers implemented. However, I poked around a little and got a few things to work. Before you get excited, this is an extremely early build and a huge amount of stuff is missing or broken. I had thought the field of buildomania was exhausted but I was wrong: we can now add STALKER 2 alpha build 4201 to the list. Right after that, something interesting appeared on a certain Russian game forum.

No real specifics but it's a sign of life. The STALKER 2 website got an update a few days ago.
